Lab Orders & Test Results – What You Need to Know

At Bajaj & Co. Endocrinology, we make lab testing simple and efficient to keep your care on track.

Lab Orders:
-
Your physician typically enters lab orders electronically at your previous appointment for your next scheduled visit.
-
For the best results, complete your lab work about one week before your next appointment.
-
Fasting is only required for lipid panels, unless instructed otherwise by your provider.
-
If you're at the lab and don’t see an order on file, call us at 817-253-9535.
-
Prefer a paper copy? Request one at checkout for future appointments.

Test Results:
-
Your physician typically receives lab results within 48 hours to one week, depending on the test.
-
Once received, your provider will review your results and make care recommendations, which may take up to one week.
-
You may see your lab values in a lab app before your physician reviews them—this does not mean they have been interpreted yet.
-
If you have not received your results within 10 business days, call us at 817-253-9535 to check the status.

Insurance Compliance & Lab Billing

To keep your lab costs as low as possible, it’s important to use an in-network lab based on your insurance plan.

-
Know your in-network lab provider. While we try to stay updated on insurance networks, they change frequently. If you are aware of your plan’s in-network lab, please notify your provider.
-
We cannot intentionally send lab orders to an out-of-network provider without your consent. If this happens by mistake, Bajaj & Co. Endocrinology is not responsible for the bill.
-
If you receive a high lab bill, contact the lab company first. If the denial is due to medical necessity or coding, call us with:
-
The specific test denied
-
The invoice number
-
The date of service
-

Our team may be able to submit additional coding, but if a test is not covered by your insurance, we cannot adjust the coding to gain coverage.

Insurance Tip: Some plans limit the number of covered tests per year across all providers. Make sure you check your coverage before getting labs done to avoid unexpected costs. Once lab charges are billed, we cannot modify or remove them.
We’re here to help make lab testing and insurance coordination as smooth as possible. If you have any questions, reach out to our office at 817-253-9535.
